Camp Rawlins (1) (1870-1871) - A U.S Army camp first established in 1870 as a subpost of Camp Whipple in present day Yavapai County, Arizona. Named Camp Rawlins after John A. Rawlins, U.S. Civil War General and Secretary of War under President Ulysses S. Grant who died in office 6 Sep 1869. Abandoned in 1871.
