Joseph Eggleston Johnston (1807-1891) - Born 3 Feb 1807, Farmville, Prince Edward County, Virginia. Died 21 Mar 1891, Washington, D.C., buried in Greenmount Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.
He graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point Class of 1829, 13th in a class of 46. He served with the 4th U.S. Artillery and in the Topographical Engineers, he saw action in the Seminole War and the Mexican War.
