Camp Curtis (1862-1865) - A Union U.S. Civil War Camp established in 1862 by Captain George W. Ousley , 1st California Volunteer Battalion of Mountaineers , in present day Arcata, Humboldt County, California. Perhaps named for Major James F. Curtis , commander at nearby Camp Lincoln (4) . Abandoned in 1865. Also known as Camp on Janes Farm .
