Rebel Redoubt (1776-1779) - A Patriot Revolutionary War fortification established in 1776 in New York City, Bronx County, New York. Situated between Fort No. 7 and Fort No. 8 in the present day Bronx. Captured by the British in 1776, improved and then held by them until 1779. Abandoned and destroyed by the British in September 1779.

History of Rebel Redoubt

A Patriot Revolutionary War circular redoubt established in 1776 in New York City. Armed with two 9-pounder cannons. Captured by the British in 1776 and held by them until they abandoned the northern New York City defense line in September 1779.
