Fort Orford (1856-1868) - Established 14 Sep 1856, Fort Orford was built by troops from Astoria, Oregon with cedar logs and lumber shipped from San Francisco. The Army post was located a few hundred feet northeast of the civilian Port Orford in Curry County and destroyed by fire 10 Oct 1868.
