Fort Stevens (1865-1882) - Located nine miles from Astoria. The post and works were built under supervision of the United States Engineers, and were first occupied by a company of the Eighth California Volunteers, 25 April 1865. Garrison withdrawn in 1882 and the post placed in charge on an ordinance sergeant.
