3rd U.S. Volunteer Infantry (1898-1899) - Organized and mustered into the service of the United States at Macon, Ga., June 11 to July 9, 1898, with 43 officers and 984 enlisted men.

    • Stationed at Santiago, Guantanamo, Baracoa Sagua de Tanamo, Siboney, Jamaica, Santa Rosa, Soledad, Guaso, and Palma, Cuba.
    • Sailed on the steamship Sedgwick March 30, 1899; arrived at Savannah, Ga., April 2, and at Macon, Ga., April 9

Mustered out of the service of the United States at Macon, Ga., May 2, 1899, with 46 officers and 828 enlisted men. Casualties while in service: Officers-died of disease, 1. Enlisted men-died of disease, 39; killed by accident, 1; deserted, 6.
