Fort No. 7 - NYC (1776-1779) - A British Revolutionary War fortification established in 1777 in New York City, Bronx County, New York. Destroyed and abandoned by the British in 1779.

History of Fort No. 7 - NYC

A British Revolutionary War fortification established 15 Nov 1776 in present day New York City, Bronx County, New York. Built as an earthworks mounting 20 cannons to support the British attack on Fort Washington (3) 16 Nov 1776. Reconstruction started 19 Jul 1777 as a square abatised fort. The Stone magazine and earthworks were torn down 10 Sep 1779.

Current Status

No remains. Said to have been located at present day Fordham Road and Sedgewick Avenue.
