Kootenai Post (3) (1821-1824) - A Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) trading post first established in 1821 along the Kootenai River near present day Rainy Creek, Lincoln County, Montana. Abandoned in 1824.

Established by the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) along the Kootenai River in 1821 near present day Rainy Creek, Lincoln County, Montana.

Abandoned in 1824.

Current Status

Identified site is private property.

Note: Some sources identify this as a North West Company (NWC) trading post but the NWC merged with the HBC in July 1821 and that ownership would have been short lived.
