Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville (1680-1767) - Born 23 Feb 1680 in Montreal, Quebec. Explorer, colonizer, and four times Governor of French Louisiana. Responsible, with his older brother Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville, for initial settlements at Biloxi, New Orleans and Mobile, sometimes known as the “Father of Louisiana.”

Bienville died on 7 Mar 1767, in Paris France, at the age of 87. Also known as Sieur de Bienville.
