Bay Street Armoury

Bay Street Armoury (1915-Present) - A Canadian Federal Armoury established in 1915 in present day Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Active military armoury. Bay Street Armoury Building History Built between 1914-1915 as a part of a program to reform and expand the Active Volunteer Canadian Militia prior to the start of World War I. The armoury was built as a large rectangular brick and steel structure in the Tudor Revival style with administrative offices along the two long sides. Includes a large open central area for drills and parades. Towers guard each side of a large troop door centered at the front. World War II Units: 5th (British Columbia) Coast Brigade, RCA: Victoria 55th Heavy Battery: Victoria 56th Heavy Battery: Victoria 60th Heavy Battery: Victoria 17th Searchlight Battery (CD) Current Status Active armoury.
