D'Iberville was a soldier, ship captain, explorer, colonial administrator, adventurer, privateer, trader and founder of the French colony of Louisiana of New France. He died 9 Jul 1706, of Yellow Fever in Havana, Cuba. Also known as Sieur d'Iberville. 1690 Second in command of the Canadian war party that destroyed Schenectady, New York. 1694 Captured Fort Nelson in Hudson Bay and renamed it Fort Bourbon. 1696 Captured Fort Pemaquid in Maine and all the English settlements on the coast of Newfoundland. 1697 Defeated the HBC ships Hudson's Bay, Hampshire, and Dering, captured and burned Fort Nelson. 1699 First Voyage to Louisiana - Located the mouth of the Mississippi and built Fort Biloxi 1700 Second Voyage to Louisiana - Sailed 40 miles up the Mississippi and built Fort de La Boulaye 1701 Third Voyage to Louisiana - Sailed up the Mobile River and built Fort Louis de la Louisiane at 27 mile Bluff.
