Battle of Fort Donelson (11 Feb 1862-16 Feb 1862) - A U.S. Civil War Battle fought between Union forces under Brigadier General Ulysses S. Grant USV, (Cullum 1187), and Confederate forces under Brigadier General John B. Floyd CSA. Known by both Union and Confederate forces as Battle of Fort Donelson. The battle was fought at Fort Donelson in Stewart County, Tennessee. Resulted in a Union victory and the capture of Fort Donelson by Union forces.
Current StatusNow Fort Donelson National Battlefield, Stewart County, Tennessee.
