Joint Base Charleston (2010-Active) - Joint Base Charleston (JB Charleston) is a composite administrative management of support functions for the DoD installations in the Charleston area located at Charleston Air Force Base. The component installations retain their separate historic identities but the support functions are jointly managed by the 628th Air Base Wing of the United States Air Force. Joint Base Charleston achieved operational capability on 1 Oct 2010.

C-17 Globemaster III assigned to the 437th Airlift Wing flies over Joint Base Charleston’s North Auxiliary Airfield.
The USNS Charlton is docked pier side at Alpha Wharf on Joint Base Charleston’s Weapons Station.
