Fort Mortimer (1843-1846) - A Union Fur Company fur trading post established in 1843 during by Fox Livingston and Company of New York on the site of Fort William (6) in present day Williams County, North Dakota. Sold to the competitor American Fur Company at Fort Union (2) in 1846.
Current Status
Near the Fort Buford State Historic Site, Williams County, North Dakota. Exact site is unknown.
