Fort George (1)

Fort George (1813-1818) - Originally known as Astor Post, the Northwest Company maintained control and named this post Fort George in October 1813. The British maintained control until 6 Oct 1818 when it was turned over to the United States but continued as a British post. During this period there was no mention of military Involvement.
