Albert Stuart Miller (1803-1852) - Born in 1803 in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee. A career U.S. Army infantry officer who was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He died on active duty 7 Dec 1852 at Benicia Barracks, Benicia, California.

He entered the United States Military Academy 6 Nov 1818 and graduated 1 Jul 1823 in the Class of 1823 ranking 34th out of 35.

He served in the Black Hawk War (1832), the SecondSeminole War (1835-1842) and the Mexican War (1846-1848).

Major Miller died on active duty on 7 Dec 1852 at Benicia Barracks, California. He is buried in plot 76 of the Benicia Arsenal Post Cemetery, Benicia, California.

Fort Miller in Fresno County, California was named for Major Miller.
