Mexican Expedition (1916-1917) - Started 14 Mar 1916 as a punitive expedition under the command of Major General John J. Pershing, (Cullum 3126), into Mexico against the bandit Pancho Villa during the Mexican Revolution. Ended 7 Feb 1917 when President Wilson withdrew U.S. Forces. Also known as the Pancho Villa Expedition and the Punitive Expedition
