The 1814 Treaty of Ghent was an agreement between Great Britain and the United States ending the [[War of 1812]]. It was signed by the negotiating team on 24 Dec 1814 and sent back to the respective governments for ratification. The U.S. Senate unanimously ratified the treaty on 16 Feb 1815,  and the treaty was proclaimed on 18 Feb 1815.
