The Jay Treaty, also known as Jay's Treaty, The British Treaty, and the Treaty of London of 1794, was a treaty between the United States and Great Britain that resolved many of the issues left over from the Revolutionary War and the Treaty of Paris (1783). It was signed in November 1794, and proclaimed to be in effect on 29 Feb 1796. All of the British occupied forts south of the agreed border were to be vacated by 1 Jun 1796.
