Pequot War (1634-1638) - Started in 1634 as a conflict between the Pequot tribe and English colonists of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and their Indian allies. The Pequots were defeated at several locations and the members of the tribe were either killed or sold into slavery and sent to the West Indies. The few remaining tribe members were assimilated into other tribes. The war ended in 1638. See Also: Links: |
