Fort Terrett (1852-1854) - Established by Ltc. Henry Bainbridge, 1st U.S. Infantry on 5 Feb 1852 and named for 1st Lt. John C. Terrett killed in the Mexian War at the battle of Monterrey, 21 Sep 1846. Abandoned 26 Feb 1854.

This fort was established to defend the frontier.

Location: From Junction Texas go 26 miles West on US 290 to a dirt road intersection with a Fort Terrett sign then 1 mile North to Noel Ranch. East bank of the North Fork of the Llano River, 200 yards from it's source.
