9th Ohio Volunteer Infantry (1898-1899) - Organized and mustered into the service of the United States at Columbus, Ohio, May 14 and July 8, 1898, with 16 officers and 314 enlisted men.

  • Assignments:
    • Assigned to Second Brigade, First Division, Second Army Corps, May 20


  • Movements:
    • Left Columbus May 19; arrived at Camp Alger, Va., May 20
    • Left Camp Alger August 16; arrived at Camp Meade, Pa., August 17
    • Left Camp Meade November 17; arrived at Summerville, S. C., November 17

Mustered out of the service of the United States at Summerville, S. C., January 28, 1899, with 16 officers and 395 enlisted men. Casualties while in service: Officers-none. Enlisted men-died of disease, 5; murdered, 1; deserted, 15.
