John P. Center (1821-1837) - Born February 1821 in Massachusetts. Served and died in the Second Seminole War, 25 Dec 1837.

He entered the United States Military Academy 1 Jul 1829 and graduated in the Class of 1833 ranking 30th out of 43.

Adjutant, 6th U.S. Infantry, died 25 Dec 1837, at the battle of Okee-cho-bee, Florida, age 25. Buried at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
