Aroostook War (1838-1842) - A United States - Canada border dispute over the boundary line between the two countries that started in 1838 over logging issues. The dispute ended with the Webster-Ashburton Treaty of Washington in 1842, that treaty settled the Aroostook area issues and covered other boundary issues along the Canadian border.
