War of 1812

War of 1812 (1812-1814) - The United States declared War on Great Britain on 18 Jun 1812. The primary causes were the impressment of American sailors by the British and the seizure of American ships and cargo for allegedly violating a British blockade of Europe.

The war ended 24 Dec 1814 with the Treaty of Ghent.
