Fort Emory

Fort Emory (1942-1950) - Established as a World War II sub post of Fort Rosecrans in San Diego County, California. Named in G.O. 67, 14 Dec 1942, for Brigadier General William H. Emory, USA (Cullum 642). Deactivated 31 Jan 1947, declared surplus 1 Mar 1948 and transferred to the Navy in 1950.
