Fort Drum (3) (1849-1861) - A U.S. Army post established in 1849 between the Second Seminole War and the Third Seminole War near the present day town of Fort Drum, Okeechobee County, Florida. Abandoned in 1861.
HistoryA U.S. Army post established in 1849 on the east side of Drum Creek two miles south of the present day town of Fort Drum, Okeechobee County, Florida. Deactivated in 28 May 1850 but reoccupied in 1856. Finally abandoned in 1861 at the start of the U.S. Civil War. Current StatusSite not located, no marker, near the town of Fort Drum, Okeechobee County, Florida
