Fort Union (4) (1786-1814) - A Revolutionary War era fort established in 1786 near Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. Abandoned as a fortification in 1814.

History

A VA state militia blockhouse was established in 1786 near the site of the earlier Fort Savannah. It was reportedly still in use by the state militia during the War of 1812. The blockhouse was demolished in the 1830s.

Abandoned as a fortification in 1814.

Current Status

The Old Barracks (1787) is located at 200 North Jefferson Street in Lewisburg, West Virginia. The connection with Fort Union is unclear but the three-story structure was reportedly used for enlistment purposes during the War of 1812.
