HistoryEstablished in September 1917 during World War I as a training camp for special units of the Quartermaster Corps. The camp was located on about 81 acres near Florida Avenue & 5th Street, in Northeast Washington, DC. During the war, some 25,000 personnel passed through the camp. In November 1918, at the end of the war, the camp served as a separation center for returning soldiers. By 15 Mar 1919, it had discharged about 7,000 personnel. Abandoned in 1920. Current StatusOverbuilt, no visible remains.
