Fort Van Buren (1835-1842) - An American Fur Company Fort and trading post established by Samuel Tullock in 1835 near Rosebud, Rosebud County, Montana. Named Fort Van Buren after President Martin Van Buren. Abandoned in 1842.

History

Established as a American Fur Company (AFC) trading post in 1835 under the direction of Samuel Tullock for trade with the Crow Indians. The post was located on the south side of the Yellowstone River at the mouth of the Rosebud River.
