It was established on 2 Jun 1860, by Captain Joseph Stewart, (Cullum 1128). 3rd U.S. Artillery, commanding the regular army troops of "The Carson Valley Expedition," after the second Battle of Pyramid Lake that same day, (the afternoon of 2 Jun 1860.) During the battle Captain Edward Fariss Storey was accidentally shot and mortally wounded by a fellow soldier. The post was abandoned later in June 1860. Current StatusUnknown
