Battery 120 (1943-1948) - Battery 120 was a reinforced concrete, World War II 16 inch coastal gun battery on Fort Story, Virginia. Renamed Battery Ketcham named after BG Daniel W. Ketcham. Battery construction started 12 Apr 1941, was completed on 12 Nov 1943 and transferred to the Coast Artillery for use 12 Nov 1943 at a cost of $ 1,553,592.00. Deactivated in 1948. World War IIPart of the Harbor Defense of Chesapeake Bay. Originally built as a World War II concrete coastal gun battery with two casemated 16" MarkII-M1 Navy guns mounted on M4 carriages.
