Battery construction started 15 Jun 1942, was completed 25 Aug 1942 and transferred to the Coast Artillery for use 29 Aug 1942 at a cost of $ 5,400. Deactivated in 1943.

World War II

Part of the Harbor Defense of Narragansett Bay.

Originally built as a temporary World War II coastal gun battery with two 155mm M1918 rapid fire guns mounted on M1918 mobile marriages emplaced on circular Panama mounts.
