Fort Terrett (1852-1854) - A U.S. Army post established by Ltc. Henry Bainbridge (Cullum 282), 1st U.S. Infantry in 1852 and named for 1st Lt. John C. Terrett killed in the Mexican-American War at the battle of Monterey, 21 Sep 1846. Abandoned in 1854. Also known as Camp Terrett, Fort Lugubre and Post on the North Fork of Llano River.

This fort was established on 5 Feb 1852 by Ltc. Henry Bainbridge, 1st U.S. Infantry to defend the frontier.

The post was abandoned on 26 Feb 1854.
