Fort Roger Jones (1839-1839) - A temporary U.S. Army fort established in 1839 during the Second Seminole War by Captain Enos J. Mitchell (Cullum 523) and Company F, 1st U.S. Infantry, near present day Aucilla, Jefferson County, Florida. Both Captain Mitchell and a Lieutenant William W. Pew died at the post from bilious fever in mid June 1839. The post was abandoned later in 1839.
