Fort Castel (1757-1783) - A French & Indian War Iroquois Indian fort established in 1757 near Howes Cave, Schoharie County, New York. Also used during the Revolutionary War and abandoned as a fortification in 1783 at the end of that war. May also have been known as Fort Schoharie.

Current Status

Archeological remains in the Iroquois Indian Museum.
