Fort Sarpy (2) (1859-1860) - Established as a replacement for Fort Sarpy (1) by the American Fur Company in 1859.

History

This post was built to replace Fort Sarpy (1) which had been abandoned and burned down in 1855. Fort Sarpy (2) was a 100' square stockaded trading post with 15-foot-high, cottonwood-log walls, loopholed at the top.
