Fort Hunter Liggett (1940-Present) - A U.S. Army Fort established in 1940 as Hunter Liggitt Military Reservation just before World War II in Monterey County, California. Named for Lieutenant General Hunter Liggitt, who served in the Spanish American War and World War I. Renamed Fort Hunter Liggitt in 1975. Active military installation.
