Fort Sanders (2) (1863-1864) - A U.S. Army post established as Fort Buckner in 1863 during the U.S. Civil War in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee. Renamed for Brigadier General William P. Sanders who was killed in the Battle of Fort Sanders, 18 Nov 1863. Abandoned in 1864.
