Fort Russell (1) (1877-1879) - First established as a temporary stockade in 1877 in response to Indian attacks during the Nez Perce War. Named after John Russell. Abandoned as a fort in 1879.

Fort Russell (1) History

One of the temporary stockades erected during the 1877 Nez Perce War and used during the Bannock War and the Sheepeater War, 1878-1879. Erected around the home of John Russell in Moscow, Idaho.
