Fort Visalia (1852-unk) - A settler Fort first established in 1852 in Visalia, Tulare County, California. Not known when abandoned. History of Fort VisaliaEstablished in the fall of 1852 by settlers as a 60' square stockade with an entrance tunnel. Tents were pitched inside to provide shelter and a bridge crossed Mill Creek at the fort. Several local families lived inside the fort during the winter of 1852-1853. Not known when the fort was abandoned but it was reportedly still standing in 1860. Current StatusNo remains in Visalia, Tulare County, California.
