Camp Alvord (1864 - 1866) - Established 1864 by Capt. George E. Curry and troops of the 1st Oregon Volunteer Cavalry and named after Brig. Gen. Benjamin Alvord. Abandoned 25 May 1866.
Camp Alvord History
The post was abandoned in Sep 1864 and reestablished by Capt. F.B. Sprague and Capt. Borland 5 Sep 1865. Camp was again abandoned 25 May 1866 and the troops moved to nearby Camp C.F. Smith.
