Battery construction started 2 Dec 1942, was completed 2 Apr 1943 and transferred to the Coast Artillery for use 4 Aug 1943 at a cost of $ 17,039.16. Deactivated in 1946.
World War II (1941-1945)Part of the Harbor Defense of Galveston. Originally built as an World War II coastal gun battery with four 90mm M1 guns, two mounted on T-3 fixed carriages and two mounted on mobile M1A1 carriages.
