Joint Base San Antonio (2010-Active) - Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) is a composite administrative management of support functions for the DoD installations in the San Antonio area located at Fort Sam Houston. The component installations retain their separate historic identities but the support functions are jointly managed by the 502 Air Base Wing of the United States Air Force. JBSA achieved full operational capability on 1 Oct 2010 and the Army civilian employees transferred to the Air Force at that time.
