Insitally established as [[Mica Peak Air Force Station]] operated by US Air Force. The site became an FAA/ADC joint-use site circa 1959, furnishing radar track data to the FAA and to USAF Direction Centers. The radar site came under FAA control in 1979. | |||

The site was reconfigured circa 1998 with the installation of an [[ARSR-4]] 3D (combination search & height finder) radar. The remaining empty USAF radar towers were removed leaving only the [[ARSR-4]] tower and FAA support buildings on the site. | |||
