Jedburg FAA Radar Site (1966-Active) - A FAA Radar Site first established in 1966 near Jedburg, Dorchester County, South Carolina. Initially assigned a FAA ID of QRJ a SAGE System ID of Z-324 and a JSS System ID of J-03. Active FAA Radar Site. HistoryThis site became an FAA radar site in 1966, furnishing radar track data to FAA ARTCC's. The site had relocated from North Charleston Air Force Station where the FAA and the Air Force shared Joint use of an FPS-66A search radar that the FAA owned and maintained. In 1964 the Air Force installed an Air Force owned FPS-27 search radar and no longer required input from the FPS-66A. The FAA decided to relocate their FPS-66A to a new facility at Jedburg and that was accomplished about 1966.
A FYQ-47 Common Digitizer was probably placed in service by February 1973 when the USAF/FAA FST-2 to FYQ-47 replacement program was completed.
