Battle of Wilson's Creek (10 Aug 1861-10 Aug 1861) - A U.S. Civil War Battle fought between Union forces under Brigadier General Nathaniel Lyon, (Cullum 1069), and Confederate forces under Brigadier General Benjamin McCulloch, CSA. Known by Union and Confederate forces as the Battle of Wilson's Creek. The battle was fought at Wilson's creek near Springfield in Greene County, Missouri and resulted in a Confederate victory. General Nathaniel Lyon was killed during the battle.
Current StatusPart of Wilson's Creek National Battlefield in Greene County, Missouri.
