Fort Russell (1) (1877-1879) - First established as a temporary stockage in 1877 in response to Indian attacks during the Nez Perce Indian War. Named after John Russell. Abandoned as a fort in 1879.
Fort Russell (1) History
One of the temporary stockades erected during the 1877 Nez Perce Indian War and used during the Bannock Indian War and the Sheepeater Indian War, 1878-1879. Erected around the home of John Russell.
