Old Stone Fort (3) (1789-1865) - First established in 1789 as a Spanish trading post and settler defense at present day Nacogdoches, Nacogdoches County, Texas. Used during the Texas War of Independence and the U.S. Civil War. Abandoned as a defense at the end of the U.S. Civil War in 1865. Torn down in 1902 and rebuilt in 1936 as the Old Stone Fort Museum on the campus of Stephen F. Austin College.
